At the end of the day, electrification is our unique opportunity to review the complete value chain and also question our maintenance and repairs are provided to fleet owners.
On the heavy duty side, fleet owners priority is and will always be vehicle uptime.
Whether the trend will continue or not, most OEMs are taking back control of their sales process and sell vehicles directly to their customers through fully owned sales representatives, branches, or showrooms.
The traditional dealership business model has been dying out in the recent years with brands such as Polestar and Tesla but even Volvo in Sweden buying out its own dealers in order to challenge the standard business model.
In heavy vehicles many new entrants have also played the card of owning fully their sales process, especially for city bus sales, with regional representatives and operations fully management centrally in their headquarters.
While the dealership model is always discussable in term of added value and competitiveness against other brands, aftermarkets need to be taken care of one way or the other. Dealerships resale and workshop network has and will always be the USP for such business model, offering close relationship and customer care to another level.
On the heavy duty side, fleet owners priority is and will always be vehicle uptime.
By providing mobile service to our fleet owner customers we have found our niche by securing customers uptime delivering the service on-site. This means that PTOs running city traffic can get mobile service directly at their workshop, but also that logistic companies can also benefit from mobile service: on the go, in their parking lot or in a dedicated space of their warehouse/logistic facility serving as a workshop.
While fleet owners are looking for efficiency through electrification of their fleet, but also reduced TCO and maintenance, the main question is how to balance the maintenance need and the service reaction time for repairs.
We truly believe in close relationship with our customers. Working solely with heavy electric vehicles we see that the reduced maintenance in electric trucks compared to combustion engine will take down the maintenance schedule and moments in service scheme. Customers are appreciating more and more the mobile service, for two main reasons:
Avoiding the transport the vehicle outside of their fences, save time, personal required to drive the vehicle.
Keep control of the fleet and its usability within fences. When a vehicle is being repaired/services SoC is not impacted by driving to/from workshop and the vehicle can be set to charge right after its ready and back into operation, optimising charge time and therefore delivering the highest SoC possible when needed.
Today we deliver mobile service in several iterations depending of our customers requirements:
Mobile service and limited repairs, within fences repairs. Our team visits the customer depot for on-site repairs. This means the vehicle isn’t moving from its parking or charging spot.
When required the mobile service can also be ordered for the workshop for bus fleet owners or the dedicated workshop space for logistic truck fleet owners. This means the vehicle is moved into a indoor workshop dedicated space where most of the repairs and/or maintenance can be performed.
For bus fleet owners this is business as usual, for truck fleet owners this is a game changer.
On-the-go, if the vehicle requires repairs and assistance out in the wild our mobile team will provide mobile service assistance where needed.
Today mobile service is challenging the legacy workshop model and provides better uptime for our customers. Our experience with various fleet owners operating all kind of heavy electric vehicles allows us to advice you for your current or future electrification project.
Send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
